    The Therapy Aide is responsible for performing a variety of support duties associated with one or more types of client therapy (e.g. Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology, Therapeutic Recreation), in accordance with established practices and procedures. You will assist with implementation of basic individual and group therapy programs, prepares program areas and ensures adequate equipment available, documents and tracks client attendance and progress. You will also be a key player in preparing treatment areas, tidy treatment areas after interventions, implement simple individual and group treatment programs outlined in treatment plan. You will also prepare and apply simple treatment modalities, document client progress and reports to therapist, records programs and treatment attendance, compiles documentation for client treatment records, maintains equipment and supplies, performs appropriate lifts and transfers, porters patients within and outside the facility and provides administrative and clerical support for the program.

    As a Therapy Aide, you will be working both independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team where you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services. Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, equipment inventory and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient (client, resident) healthy living, self-care independence and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.
