    Your Opportunity:
    The Research Assistant (RA) 1 will be responsible for performing a range of functions in support of research activities related to a Government of Alberta sponsored grant. The aim of this research grant is to understand the impact of Spiritual Health Practitioners in addressing the spiritual care needs, specifically spiritual distress, of palliative clients and families in the urban and rural Calgary Zone. This project seeks to demonstrate how providing access to professional spiritual care services to patients and families in community settings can improve of quality of life, relieve spiritual and emotional suffering, and enhance holistic service delivery by health care teams thereby addressing capacity needs and keeping people in their communities. The position is a temporary position for the duration of the Grant. Responsibilities: • Develop, coordinate, and conduct research activities in consultation with the principal investigator(s). • Assist in the creation of research processes and tools, • Under limited supervision, responsible for performing a range of research and coordination in support of the project objectives inclusive of: literature search and reviews, recruitment of research participants, conducting of pre and post surveys and scheduling and conducting of research interviews, data analysis, and generating a final report for Alberta Health. • Coordinate research activities to ensure protocol compliance in which clinical and ethical standards are met. • Develop and maintain processes for maintenance of electronic documents. • Assessing and completing staff education needs relevant to the research project, as appropriate.

    Description:
    As a Research Associate I, your principle focus is the coordination of research studies including internal and external clinical trials from start-up to closure in collaboration with principal investigators and other members of the research team. You are responsible for the submission of ethics applications, consent/ assent forms, amendments, progress reports and other submissions to the Research Ethics Board. An integral member of the research team, you will integrate the knowledge and skills of data abstracting with the philosophy and standards of AHS and clinical trial sponsors.
