    The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for two (2) Research Analyst(s). This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

    This position reports to the Manager, Operations.

    This academic research team is engaged in cutting-edge health services and public health research, focusing on methods related to health data quality, with a particular interest in adverse event data. The Research Analyst is integral to supporting the research team. Primary responsibilities center on the data collection phase of a large health record review study.

    Position Description

    Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

    -Application of clinical knowledge to the chart review process
    -Review and discussion of data from assigned charts for inter-rater reliability
    -Data collection via chart review in accordance with the protocol and project timelines
    -Strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy procedures for patient records as outlined in the ethics documents
    -Participation in meetings and presentations that focus on the overall project protocol, expectations, and improvements to the data dictionary and/or data
    collection tool. Input from the incumbent is vital to the accuracy of the data collection and results of the study
    -Under limited supervision & direction of the PI, develop and implement original studies within the guidelines of the research
    -Conduct literature review, surveys, data analysis and interpretation, laboratory experiments and other research for use in scholarly publications
    -Assist with designs for specialized applications to meet the needs of the research team
    -Participate in the design and development of data management tools and data collection processes as part of the overall project involvement and contribution
