The Physician Learning Program (PLP) is housed in the Office of Lifelong Learning, and supports the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry’s (FoMD) mission to enhance the knowledge and skills of community practitioners in quality improvement initiatives. PLP creates actionable clinical information and engages with physicians, teams, patients, and partners to co-create sustainable solutions to advance practice. Our department embraces multidisciplinary approaches and offers a positive and collegial culture. We are looking for a Project Coordinator who is eager to put their project management and statistical analysis skills to use to help improve patient outcomes and healthcare in Alberta.

As a Project Coordinator in our quantitative analysis group, you’ll have a lot of variety in your role, working on non-routine problems and projects across a range of medical disciplines and topics, and providing evidence based answers to important clinical questions that have meaningful impact on patient outcomes and contribute to positive change within health care for Albertans. Responsible for the overall cycle of your assigned projects, you’ll manage both short and long-term projects in a collaborative setting, working with multidisciplinary teams to plan and carry out projects using administrative health data. From the initial project scoping, you’ll collaborate with the senior project officer, physicians, and various stakeholders to design the methods and identify variables that will answer the question, and will help prepare the ethics application. You’ll take the lead on data analysis and statistical interpretation, working collaboratively with the physician lead who has the corresponding clinical expertise. You’ll help prepare reports and presentations that disseminate the findings to a wide range of audiences. You’ll collaborate with our human centred designers for data visualization and will also support a range of knowledge transfer activities to get the clinically actionable information in front of health care teams. You’ll manage several projects simultaneously, and will coordinate the involvement of various stakeholders to ensure successful completion of each project.
