About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic Production team in Calgary. The work of Laboratory Assistants is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline. Reporting directly to the Laboratory Supervisor for Component Production, you will be working in the manufacturing area of the laboratory, performing functions related to the preparation and storage of blood and blood components in accordance with all regulatory and Canadian Blood Services’ policies, procedures and practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Receive, assess and produce whole blood and apheresis platelets and plasma into requested blood components
Preparation and storage of blood components
End label and store blood components
Performs bacterial detection
