Kelly Allen-PitchkoParticipantThe Department of Surgery in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Research Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The Clinical Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator and be accountable to the Orthopaedic Trauma Research Lead, in the Department of Surgery.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Responsible for the coordination and administration of various research projects in collaboration with members of the Orthopaedic Trauma Research Team
Provide research support, produce reports, and administer research policies and procedures
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of work spaces and labs, ensuring facilities are stocked with supplies and clean
Recruitment of patients into clinical research projects, booking appointments, collecting patient data, taking clinical patient histories, and patient education
Scheduling appointments for current research patients within study protocol guidelines
Blood sample collection and blood sample analysis using laboratory equipment
Work closely with the Research Manager and Principal Investigator in areas of analytics and reporting, in the development of documents and proposals for the purpose of presentation and publication
Assists in submitting research grant proposals
Organization and maintenance of all research patient records (hard copy and electronic) according to research policies and guidelines
Preparation of grant proposals, ethics applications, and reports for current and future research projects
Maintenance of filing system and archiving as required and in compliance with current standard operating procedures
Obtaining and maintaining certifications in the regulations and guidelines governing the conduct of clinical research involving human subjects
Obtaining and maintaining certifications required for Lab and Biohazard Lab Personnel
Obtaining and maintaining certifications required for phlebotomyClick HERE to learn more and/or to apply
