Description

The Jasper Place Wellness Centre (JPWC) was founded in 2006 by Murray Soroka and Taylor Soroka. Originally an emergency service provider for those experiencing poverty and homelessness in West Edmonton, JPWC has grown into a community development organization.

We build strong communities and people by addressing social and health-based inequities facing low-income and/or vulnerable neighborhoods.

We prioritize engagement with those we serve to find intentional solutions that enable autonomy.

We work from an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) perspective and understand that community building happens in many different ways, from individual connections and relationship-building to systemic change.

Our mission is: To act as disruptors and embrace risk as we radically innovate and provide intentional health and community-based solutions that empower autonomy within our community.

Our branches of work include:

Affordable Housing

Supportive Housing

Food Access

Low-barrier Health Care

Social Employment Enterprise

Community Resource Centre
