Description

The Distress Centre Calgary (DCC) has provided 24-hour crisis support in Calgary and southern Alberta since 1970 through their 24-hour crisis line, email, daily chat, and daily text for our youth. They also provide professional counselling for clients with issues that cannot be resolved over the phone.

During this session, we will explore the history of DCC, the services they offer, some fast facts (statistics) about the agency, and how to get involved/volunteer with them.

This session will be hosted by Matthew An, the Volunteer Team Lead at DCC. Matthew started his journey at DCC as a volunteer Midnight Crisis Line Worker/Contact Centre Assistant more than 9 years ago. Since then, he has held various roles within the agency, mostly in the realm of crisis and suicide intervention.

This session will be hosted via Zoom. The Registration Link will be sent to you upon booking. For any questions or concerns, please contact Teresa at teresa@aimga.ca.
