Description
Feeling stress? Learn how to manage your thoughts and feelings using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, presented by our partners at the Therapy and Support Centre in the Centre for Newcomers, Calgary.
Faraz Khan is the Manager for the Centre for Newcomers, Therapy and Support Centre, in which he supervises their Psychotherapy and Counselling Services, and their court-mandated program for domestic violence and anger management counselling. He was born here in Canada, but his family is originally from Pakistan and migrated here during the 1970’s. In his work, Faraz adopts a relational/systemic stance specializing in counselling for couples and families, and group counselling for court-mandated anger management and domestic violence counselling.
Dominika Kubica-Owoc is a Senior Psychologist at the Centre for Newcomers (CFN). She holds a master’s degree in Family and Developmental Psychology from University of Lodz, Poland. Being an immigrant herself, she is eager to support immigrants and refugees. She works with adults, minors, and families in both individual and group settings. She is passionate about how culture shapes our experiences, values, and beliefs.
