At Refugee 613, we believe that information is an essential service and one of our goals is to ensure that newcomers and diaspora/racialized communities have access to trusted information on the platforms they use and from the sources that they are most comfortable with. We know that many members of these communities rely on digital messaging platforms for essential information in their settlement and integration journey.
If you have ever shared important information on any social media platform from WhatsApp to Facebook, you have successfully acted as a “Digital Connector”!
This information session will break down what a digital connector is, how important information sharing is to communities – especially amongst newcomers, and how to build your network!
As times are changing, having a social media presence – especially surrounding important topics – is essential to branding yourself both as a professional and a community leader!
