Description

Description:

This presentation will highlight two initiatives taken by Action 4 Humanity Development Foundation and the Alberta International Medical Graduate Association (AIMGA). Each organization will present for 15-20 minutes. The remaining time will be spent on discussion or any questions attendees may have following the presentations.

Action 4 Humanity Development Foundation:

The vaccine information dissemination project aims to provide accurate and accessible information about vaccines in East African languages and to provide education and awareness about the importance of vaccination, reduce vaccine hesitancy, and promote informed decision-making.

Presenter: Mohamed Abazinab

Alberta International Medical Graduate Association:

Our project is unique as it utilizes Internationally Trained Physicians certified in the area of patient navigation to increase vaccine uptake among newcomer communities through community-based vaccine education and outreach and by providing supports in multiple languages. This presentation will highlight how these supports are helping those in community get vaccinated with confidence through trusted resources and addressing cultural and linguistic needs of newly arrived newcomers and refugees. This presentation will also outline some of the challenges in vaccination in Calgary.

Presenters: Ugo Osigwe and Naxhielli Donaji Mendez Muniz
