Session 1A: AN OVERVIEW OF THE PRACTICE READINESS ASSESSMENT (PRA) ROUTE FOR IMGS

Presenters: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Alberta Health Services Medical Affairs
Moderator: Deidre Lake

Do you have two or more years of continuous post-graduate training? Have you been out of practice for less than three years? Have you successfully completed or are preparing to write the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part I (MCCQE Part I) and the English language proficiency test (International English Language Testing System-IELTS)?

This session is open to IMGs who meet the requirements of the PRA route and have an eligibility letter (active/inactive) or who are eligible and preparing themselves to apply for this route. This session will be conducted by the CPSA and AHS Medical Affairs. The presenters will provide an overview of the sponsorship process, eligibility and recruitment. They will also discuss any recent changes if applicable. There will be some time at the end of the session to ask general questions where clarification is needed. We are pleased to be able to offer this information session for those who meet the eligibility criteria and look forward to seeing you.
