Description

Join this session to learn about addictions in mental health from a renowned professional in the field: Zahra Jessa Greig. Zahra Jessa is a registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Over the past ten years, her work has been focused on helping people with addiction, mental health, interpersonal violence, capacity/decision-making, and acculturation challenges. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Zahra was a secondary teacher in Calgary, Mexico, Egypt, and Indonesia for ten years. Zahra’s work in the mental health and education fields has given her insight into the importance of life balance as well as the importance of self-care and self-compassion.

In this first session, Zahra will provide a brief overview of the following central concepts in the area of addictions: types of addictions, concurrent disorders, harm reduction and a brief review of treatment options in Alberta, ending with a Q & A session.

This session will be held via Zoom and the link will be sent to you prior to the start of this session.
