Description

Join us on Friday, December 20th from 12 to 1PM at AIMGA Calgary for a session facilitated by Dr. Janak Bajgai on alternative pathways into healthcare for IMGs. Dr. Janak Bajgai is a PhD student at the University of Calgary in the Community Health Sciences department. He also leads a team of prevention and education specialists in addressing HIV, Hepatitis C, and substance abuse issues in Calgary. His research interest lies in policy, implementation, and quality improvement of health services. He holds a Master of Public Health from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK.

In this workshop, Dr. Bajgai will be discussing the following areas:

  • Research pathways: Academia, Clinical Research, Graduate Studies
  • Public Health programming and Health systems: Opportunities in health systems, public health programs, and not-for-profit agencies
  • Knowledge translation: Public health, academia, advocacy, and pharmaceuticals

He will also share his insights into ways that IMGs can inform, support, and improve the current system.
