    The Health Promotion Facilitator (HPF) is responsible for developing and facilitating Addiction & Mental Health staff education based on adult education principles. Health Promotion Facilitator promotes a working culture in which learning is valued, evidence informs practice, and optimal organizational standards/practices are maintained. Health Promotion Facilitator works collaboratively with management and staff at multiple sites and participates in various committees to plan, develop, and present new clinical practice changes and initiatives and to provide input to broader educational requirements.

    Health Promotion Facilitator is expected to use critical thinking skills to select, review, synthesize and apply the best available evidence to clinical practice. The position involves significant computer work, including in-depth literature searches and developing online, classroom and written educational materials. Health Promotion Facilitator adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care, including a focus on client-centered care, a collaboration between the care team and client, trauma-informed, concurrent addiction and mental health competent care and recovery-oriented.
