Join us on October 2 for a presentation on sexual assault and consent in Canada presented by the Sexual Assault Centre (SACE). They will cover topics:
· SACE services
· Sexual violence statistics
· Facts & myths related to sexual violence
· Canadian sexual assault and consent Law
· How to respond to a disclosure of sexual violence
Shannah Barros has been providing anti-sexual violence education in the community of Edmonton since 2012. In this time she has developed extensive experience providing education and support to youth, post-secondary students, adults, and professionals. In 2015 Shannah graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts. Since then she has been working at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE), and has been a member of the Public Education team for 3 years. Shannah is trained in sexual violence crisis intervention, and she is also a certified First Responder Facilitator for the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services (AASAS).
SACEÂ exists to support people impacted by sexual violence and engage communities to promote respect and uphold a culture of consent.
