Patient Navigator Program (PNP) Cohort 3 Application

The Patient Navigator Program (PNP) for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) has been made possible with funds from the Government of Alberta to bridge highly skilled international medical graduates (IMGs) into a non-physician occupation in the area of patient navigation, health promotion, health facilitation and community facilitation.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. I am:

a permanent resident, refugee, or Canadian citizen (i.e., legally entitled to work in Canada)
residing in Calgary, Alberta (or surrounding area)
able to participate in person (Monday-Friday 9:00am-2:00pm, MDT)
a member of AIMGA

This in person program is only open to: 1) Permanent Residents, 2) Refugees, and 3) Canadian Citizens residing in Alberta, Canada. Applicants must be members of AIMGA and must be available to attend all in person classes at the Calgary office, all online classes and workshops, and their weekly practicum placements.

As this is an employment focused program, it is expected that selected participants will be actively seeking employment throughout the program. A portion of the program will be dedicated to ensuring participants have the tools and job search skills required. This is a program for only those who are able and committed to becoming employed.

Attend ALL in person sessions at the Calgary AIMGA office (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm, MDT).
Attend ALL online sessions and keep my CAMERA ON.
Be on time to all sessions and workshops (join 5 minutes before class starts).
Submit all assignments before set deadlines.
Attend an in-community practicum for 5-7 hours a week.
Be committed and motivated to finding a job as soon as possible (either during or following the program).

Applicants who are selected will be required to fulfill program requirements (i.e., adhere to attendance policies, complete evaluations, be willing and able to look for and obtain employment as soon as possible after completion of the program, and participate in follow up calls or surveys to track program outcomes)
