Kelly Allen-PitchkoParticipantImmigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is looking for a passionate community outreach professional to promote Gateway programs and services in the community and support newcomers on their settlement journey in Calgary. As the Gateway Community Liaison, you will help connect newcomers to Gateway services and help build relationships with existing and potential community partners. The Gateway Community Liaison will report directly to the Outreach Coordinator.
This is a full-time, six-month contract position, with the possibility of extension. Please note, that the successful candidate must be fluent in Ukrainian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct outreach activities in Calgary to promote Gateway services and establish collaborations.
Collaborate with stakeholders in the community to increase awareness of, and connect clients to, Gateway services.
Participate in community liaison meetings, events, and presentations as required.
Complete client intake forms and assist with the maintenance of client records according to established policies and procedures.
Work with grassroots groups and provide them with the necessary resources and training to enhance their capacity to serve and support newcomers in the community.
Work with the Outreach Coordinator to create strategies and tactics to expand reach in promoting Gateway services.
Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Outreach Coordinator.Qualifications:
Degree in social work, social science, business, communications, or international development is preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in community work.
Excellent spoken and written English and Ukrainian.
Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity are required.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
