Tisha RajParticipantHere are notes about this part of the application. Please review your checklist on the items required for submission.
- Upload proof of status in Canada through the submission of a copy of one of the following valid documents (they must ALSO be added to your Physicians Apply account and shared with AIMGP):
You will have to log into your Physicians Apply account to give permission for information to be shared with AIMGP.
- Canadian Passport (front AND back)
- Canadian Citizenship Certificate (front AND back)
- Canadian Citizenship Card (front AND back)
- Permanent Resident Card (front AND back)
The card must be valid and not expired as of June 4, 2021 and the PR Since date must be no later than December 1, 2020. Otherwise you will have to apply for an Administrative Exception.
- Copies of renewed Permanent Resident (PR) cards will be accepted until September 30, 2021 and an explanation letter must be included with your documents.
- Upload the PR card. If you are awaiting receipt of your PR card, you may submit a copy of your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

Ogoma OsanyinlusiParticipantHow do we add this to physicians apply. I’m not sure of the process of adding pr card to physicians apply
May 18, 2021 at 2:25 pm #13921
Tisha RajParticipantHello Ogoma,
STEP 1: You will have to log into your Physician’s Apply account to add either your PR card. If you’re unsure on how to do so, please contact MCC. After that ensure that you are sharing the necessary information you will need for your AIMGP application through Physician’s Apply.
STEP 2: Follow the instructions listed AIMGP Checklist under 5. Status in Canada. You will upload the necessary document (the one that you also have shared through your Physician’s Apply) needed onto your AIMGP application.
Thank you!

Rafiat Adekemi AbdulgaffarParticipantHi, I do not think we need to share the PR card through physianapply. According to the checklist, it is just the upload aspect that has a box to be checked. I also chatted an agent on MCC website who stated that I am not required to add any form of identity documents at this time because my Nigerian passport presently on expires next year September. Pleas find below a transcript of the chat.
Hi Leila, I am wondering how to add a new ID card like PR card into my physian apply

once it expires, you can only submit new identity documents if/when you apply to an exam or submit a source verification request.12:22:35 PM

Afrah MisbahParticipantHi I had a similar conversation with physiciansapply. They said that since my ID has been verified by my passport, I would not have to upload another ID document for 5 years.

Tisha RajParticipantHello Rafiat and Afrah,
Thank you both in sharing your experience and the information you have.
In this case:
a) If you have already uploaded any of your PR or Passport documentation on Physician’s Apply account, leave it as it is. This can be shared with AIMGP. There is no need to upload what’s required on the AIMGP checklist to Physician’s Apply.
b) Only the documents required on the AIMGP checklist will be uploaded to the AIMGP supporting documents page and no other website.
I hope this helps clarifies things for everyone!
Thank you!

Tisha RajParticipant*IMPORTANT NOTICE* (May 28, 2021)
Some of you are still a little confused about Physician’s Apply and uploading of documents.
If you have your PR or Passport documentation uploaded on Physician’s Apply,
1) there is no need to upload any other additional document on Physician’s Apply.
2) you can share your passport/PR card you have on your account with AIMGP. This eventually will be needed anyways when you do your CaRMS application.
3) please make sure you still pick one document from the AIMGP ‘Status in Canada’ checklist to upload onto the AIMGP website. There is no need to upload it onto Physicians Apply.May 31, 2021 at 8:59 am #14354
Mehwish RiffatParticipantWhat is front and back of passport?
May 31, 2021 at 9:00 am #14359
Tisha RajParticipantHello Mehwish,
What AIMGP means is the two pages that contains your photo & information and the other page above it when you open your passport vertically.
Thanks!
