    This position will have an end date of one year plus a day from the date of hire with the possibility of extension and offers a comprehensive benefits package which can be viewed at Faculty & Staff Benefits. This role will work under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) on sponsored research projects performing standard and complex laboratory procedures.

    Duties

    maintain accurate and timely records of test results;
    apply standard quality control procedures to assure the accuracy of test results;
    maintain supply inventory;
    organize and centralize files and records;
    utilizes a variety of laboratory equipment, techniques, and procedures;
    reads pertinent literature primarily to help develop and use lab techniques.
    operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment;
    performs daily work planning;
    collect data;
    uses computers to analyze and present data in written and oral form;
    keeps laboratory equipment in good working order;
    prepare solutions, reagents, media or stains for prescribed tests; and
    participates in regular meetings with the PI and research team to evaluate lab procedures impacting the quality or timeliness of the research.
