Position Overview

The Department of Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This Part-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

This position reports to the Principal Investigator.

Methamphetamine use disorder and misuse has become an increasing concern in Emergency Departments with increased cases of psychosis and toxicity. Despite the rising numbers, there is no set standardized protocol to manage this in both an acute setting but also long term management. The purpose of this Research coordinate role is to help with the following:
1) Systematic Review
2) Guideline development using Grade criteria
3) Evaluate the impact of the guidelines and its efficacy as a pre and post study.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Responsible for the coordination and administration of research programs or projects
In collaboration with the Principle Investigator, develop the structure, objectives, and policies of the research project, evaluating research activities and recommending improvements when appropriate
Working closely with the Principle Investigator in the coordination of project resources
Monitor research funding and budgeting resources , collaborating with the Principle Investigator and Research Accounting
Provide support for smaller research projects to determine understanding of a novel intervention.
Responsible for coordinating research staff and volunteers, including the delegation of tasks and duties
Develop project timelines, monitor and control of project deadlines and outcomes, and closeout of projects
Provide research support, produce reports, and administer research policies and procedures
Conduct statistical analyses to determine cost and effectiveness of research activities and processes, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of work spaces and labs, ensuring facilities are stocked with supplies and clean
Work closely with the Principle Investigator in areas of analytics and reporting, in the development of documents and proposals for the purpose of presentation and publication
Contributes to and assists in submitting research grant proposals, may be required to act on behalf of the Principle Investigator to granting agencies, or other internal or external agencies
Provide professional services to other team members, internal and external to the research, providing guidance and knowledge transfer in training, procedures, and policy development
Develop and coordinate a variety of analytical processes, using complex software and techniques as required by the project and in support of the Principle Investigator
