The Department of Family Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Qualitative Research Associate. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 5 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator and will work in collaboration with other team members and faculty. The Research Associate will be responsible for supporting research-related activities. The employee must be willing to travel occasionally within Calgary for project related activities.
Time will be split between projects that focus on community-based research in primary care, including ENCOMPASS, a project that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of community health workers for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Coordinating and carrying out research activities of key research studies in consultation with the principal investigator and research team leadership
Under limited supervision, responsible for performing a range of research tasks in support of study objectives
Working as part of a team to achieve objectives
Providing support to research assistants and students
Keeping stakeholders informed
Assisting with and completing applications (e.g., ethics, grants) and development of research protocols
Collaborating with the study investigators to perform and complete relevant parts of the study, such as obtaining signatures, discussing questions that come up, reviewing data anomalies, etc.
Make recommendations to policy or procedural changes as needed
Participant recruitment and data collection
Maintaining research databases and abstracting data from existing databases
Analysis and interpretation of data
Assisting with report writing, production of research papers suitable for publication, and supporting knowledge translation activities
