    Position Overview

    The Libin Cardiovascular Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Project Coordinator, Precision Medicine Initiative. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 2 years (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Precision Medicine Initiative of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, this position requires independent work, leadership, decision making, time management, and superior organizational skills. It is dynamic and has a broad scope that requires a diversity of skills and experience.

    The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation and evaluation of a highly complex project with a high volume of work, competing priorities, and diversity of stakeholders.

    Position Description

    Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

    Project Management
    Lead the implementation of a technical solution to align and implement a patient-reported data collection tool in cardiac clinics across Calgary Zone
    Manage project documentation including protocol development, project planning, evaluation, and reporting
    Manage ethics submissions, modifications and renewals
    Establish, implement, track, and report on program and project process and successes
    Be the lead liaison and advisor for clinicians/clinic stakeholders to implement data collection tools and workflows that facilitate the uptake of the solution in the clinical environment
    Provide technical expertise and ongoing support for cardiac clinics in a phased rollout of the project
    Collaborate with the Mozell Family Analysis Core, Department of Cardiac Sciences data and IT teams, and AHS and UofC privacy offices and Libin AHS Analyst to collect, govern, and utilize the data collected according to protocol and institutional agreements
    Collaboration & Engagement
    Take on a leadership role with the working groups of the Precision Medicine Initiative, particularly the Analysis and Capacity Development Working Groups, which are comprised of multidisciplinary network of analytic and resource teams
    Manage a new intake process for Libin members who require analytic or data services and facilitate the delegation, tracking, and reporting of project support services with the designated analysis resource team
    Provide support to research projects of Libin members, such as consulting on project overviews, drafting data dictionaries, or determining pathways needed to move project work forward while maintaining alignment with existing supports, such as Mozell analysts or AHS/university policies and services
    Communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders including clinicians, researchers, analysts, people with lived experience, and senior administrative leaders
    Actively facilitate connections between Libin members and with other members of Cumming School of Medicine and other relevant University Department (e.g. Research Computing Services)
    Education & Administration
    Maintain Initiative member lists, meeting summaries, documentation, and reporting
    Coordinate capacity development activities, including Initiative events and workshops, accreditation, evaluation, and reporting
    Develop resources to build capacity and support the use of cardiovascular data by Libin members
    Track project budgets and ensure that things are delivered on time, on scope, on budget
