    The Privacy Officer will coordinate, manage and be part of developing the organizations’ privacy strategies. Deliverables include the development, maintenance and implementation of Privacy & information management policies, procedures and standards pertaining to privacy and data security, reflective of current organizational practices and in compliance with legislative requirements.

    Reporting to the Director of Evaluation & Measurement, the Privacy Officer monitors organizational activities and conducts regularly scheduled risk assessments and privacy impact assessments to ensure compliance to privacy and data security requirements, investigating and resolving all potential violations. The Privacy Officer shall also act as a key resource and subject matter expert on privacy and data security issues and concerns, providing information, interpretation, risk analysis and education as required. The Privacy Officer is also a records management expert and strategist with knowledge in the areas of documentation criteria, documentation disclosure to patients and third parties, and documentation processes in accordance with appropriate regulatory colleges.

    This position undertakes activities that support and further the role of the PCN’s Evaluation Team, promotes positive relationships, acts as a liaison with other provincial and federal stakeholders, and promotes a positive image for the PCNs.
