Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Plasma Associate to join our dynamic Plasma team in Lethbridge. The work of Plasma Associates is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline. Reporting to the Plasma Centre Manager, you will be responsible for performing assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process as defined by standard operating procedures. You will participate in projects/continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the success of the program. You will also act as an ambassador of the program to promote and contribute to a collaborative and customer-centric work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Assembles and prepares supplies, equipment and associated documentation required to expedite collection process
Conducts confidential donor screening, obtains donor consent, completes donor registration, and responds to inquiries and concerns regarding plasma donation/process, etc.
Performs venepuncture according to established standards
Ensures completeness of information in IT system for products
Prepares product samples for shipment to testing facility and to fractionator and ensures documentation requirements and products meet specifications
Prepares product for freezing, monitors temperature, and centrifuges product samples as per established procedures
Assists with various recruitment/retention initiatives designed to further grow or engage the donor base
