Brand new state of the art clinic in Lethbridge, Alberta looking for family physicians. The clinic space encompasses a main floor space of approximately 3,000 square feet and incorporates 8 medical exam rooms, outfitted with new medical furniture and equipment. Physicians will share office space with another physician but allow for EMR access in a private setting for chart review prior to appointment and charting and referral letter creation post-appointment. Each physician will have their own office in the basement space as well. Finally, the EMR system will allow for tele- or videoconferencing with patients, depending on physician preference.
Additional space is incorporated for medical team members, such as Medical Office Assistants (MOA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and other allied health professionals such as Nurse Practitioner, Chronic Disease Management specialist, registered psychologist, Counsellor, mental health, or psychiatric nurse. A team of one MOA and one LPN will be shared between two in-clinic physicians. The Allied Health Professionals have a dedicated meeting space but will be available based on space availability and physician referral/usage patterns. Allied Health Professionals will have access to EMR system and can provide updates to physicians through medical chart notes and system messaging.
The basement space of the Clinic has space for a staff room/lounge, physician offices, meeting/training room, IT room and storage.
Lethbridge and area are currently experiencing a significant shortage of family practice physicians. As a result, there is a tremendous opportunity for a newly recruited physician to quickly establish a full practice.
The Clinic principals and management have committed to adopt current technology that allow patients to have a great experience while also limiting the staffing required and focusing staff to concentrate on high value work for both patient and physician. These technologies include online appointment scheduling, patient portal for results and messaging, tele- and videoconferencing incorporated into the EMR software and automated appointment reminder system. All these technologies allow patients to have more information when they want it while freeing up staff from mundane duties that can be completed electronically.
Overhead expense calculations have not been finalized but a minimum threshold will be required while allowing higher billings to be charged progressively less. It is expected that average earnings would generate a 70/30 split.
