Reporting to the Manager of Health Compliance, in this position you will be part of a dynamic team of Health Compliance Officers.

This team provides clinical and professional expertise on infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, and also monitors compliance and conducts audits to the Continuing Care Health Service Standards (CCHSS) in all publicly funded continuing care health service settings and programs.

When COVID-19 was declared a public health emergency, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) issued orders to support early recognition and swift action for effective outbreak management in licensed supportive living, long-term care, and residential addiction treatment facilities. Health Compliance Officers conduct unannounced inspections in these facilities to ensure compliance to the applicable CMOH operational standards. These requirements are in addition to those outlined in the Continuing Care Health Service Standards.

Health Compliance Officers also review Alberta Health Services audit data, and investigates reportable incidents and non-compliances/complaints related to Continuing Care Health Service Standards, Chief Medical Officer of Health, COVID orders, and the infection prevention and control standards.

As a Health Compliance Officer you provide clinical compliance monitoring, leadership in quality assurance, and risk management practices to ensure the safety and care of patients and residents across Alberta.
