Your Opportunity:
Health Care Aide positions at Strathmore hospital work in the acute care unit that will challenge the ability to balance varying patient acuity levels and priorities. You will participate in the provision of health care to patients in the acute care unit which includes medical/surgical, and palliative patients. You will provide a wide variety of care to patients, families in a diverse population, focusing on an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. You will accept responsibility for continuing competences through ongoing professional development, including participation in education and orientation and continuous quality improvement activities. Under the supervision of the Head Nurse, RN or LPN, the Health Care Aide provides direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the patient, and provides indirect services to support the overall provision of care in the assigned areas.

Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
