Reporting to the Collection Supervisor, Recruitment/Collections, you will work collaboratively with Canadian Blood Services Cord Blood Bank (CBS’CBB) staff to ensure promotion, development and maintenance of an environment of continuous quality improvement, in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards and customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for umbilical ex-utero cord collections at specified hospital locations. In addition, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining public awareness/promotion and education as well as maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Ex-Utero Cord Blood Collections
Assembles and prepares supplies, equipment and associated documentation at work location.
Tracks and reviews donor permission to collect documentation in collaboration with health care providers at hospital.
Performs ex-utero umbilical cord blood collection (phlebotomy) and maternal blood sample collection, as required.
Ensures that error/accident, reaction/incident reporting is performed and initiates immediate corrective action and follow-up as required, in consultation with the Canadian Blood Services’ Cord Blood Bank Nurse Specialist (CBB-NS) and Supervisor.Click here https://careers.blood.ca/job/Edmonton-Cord-Blood-Collection-Specialist-AB-T6G-2R8/562717317/ to learn more and/or to apply
