All candidates complete a six-month assessment and evaluation, and upon successful completion, can lead to a full-time and permanent acute care coverage role that addresses clinical and/or surgical coverage shortages. Acute Care Coverage is currently recruiting Clinical Assistants for neonate inpatient units in the Calgary Zone. We are looking for professionals with pediatric and/or neonatal training experience.
Description:
Clinical Assistants will provide day and after-hours coverage in neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in five acute care sites in the Calgary Zone. The provider will care for neonates including preterm and term infants with a range of Clinical pathologies in the Level II and III NICUs. Clinical Assistants will be integrated into the current healthcare team, which includes fellows, Nurse Practitioners (NP), other allied health professionals, residents, and clinical associates. Successful candidates will be hired as AHS employees with annual remuneration per the CSA Salary grid. Hours are 2610 annually, which on average is 200 hours in 4 weeks. Responsibilities/Duties: All clinical activities are performed under the supervision of the neonatologist and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Some of the clinical assistant responsibilities can include but are not limited to, completing admissions, ordering and performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, assessing and responding to the patient’s medical needs as they arise and planning care throughout the patient’s hospitalization. Providers will also be involved in the resuscitation of infants at birth and in providing neonatology consultations for infants in postpartum wards and the emergency room.Click HERE to learn more and/or to apply
