Our mandate is to meet the healthcare needs of individuals, families and their communities by leading a high-quality, safe, responsive, sustainable, health system that provides the right care, in the right place, at the right time.Currently Manitoba Health is seeking to fill the role of Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Health, a key senior leadership role on our Executive Management team.
As a member of the department’s executive leadership team, the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Public Health, working closely with the Chief Provincial Public
Health Officer, is responsible to lead and manage the division, provide advice and support to the Deputy Minister and Minister, and contribute to achieving the
corporate goals of government through cross department initiatives. The ADM works in close collaboration with the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, Deputy Chief and the entire Medical Officer of Health team. The ADM is accountable for strategic leadership to ensure the implementation of core public health priorities with a goal of mitigating negative health impacts and working towards improved health outcomes for Manitobans. The ADM provides oversight to the department and
health system to advance health outcomes, system improvements, monitoring, licensing and compliance. The ADM provides leadership, strategic advice and policy development to the department on federal, inter-provincial and municipal inter-jurisdictional health issues. The ADM oversees the three provincial nursing stations and leads and promotes relationship building, collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders such as Indigenous organizations and communities. This
