Career Transition Program Application Form – Jan 2024

The Career Transition Program (CTP) for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) has been made possible with funds from the Government of Alberta and Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada to assist IMGs who are considering an alternative pathway (i.e., career) into the Canadian healthcare system as a short, intermediate, or long-term goal.

This is a no-cost 12-week program offered on Tuesdays (Cohort 18) OR Thursdays (Cohort 19) from 9:00am-1:30pm MST.

Applicants will be selected based on the following:
1. IMGs who are interested in alternative career pathways;
2. IMGs who are willing and ready to seek employment; and
3. IMGs who are residents of Canada (Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens).

IMGs who are either unemployed or underemployed will be given preference. Applicants who are selected will be required to fulfill program requirements (i.e., adhere to attendance policies, complete evaluations, and participate in follow up calls or surveys to track program outcomes).

We are currently accepting applications from IMGs who are interested in this program until Friday, December 1st, 2023. Candidates will be contacted by AIMGA’s Program Coordinator to arrange an online interview to determine suitability and to gather information as required by our funders.

This program is open to: 1) Permanent Residents, 2) Refugees, and 3) Canadian Citizens residing in Canada, and entitled to work in Canada and with a Social Insurance Number (SIN). Applicants must be members of AIMGA and must be available to attend classes (Tuesdays OR Thursdays 9:00am-1:30pm).
Please make sure that your AIMGA profile has your most up to date mailing address.
